Hello there, I'm Klara Kernig, and you probably know me from my Instagram page @fittingrightin, where I share helpful information and tips on recovering from people-pleasing. In 2020, my life changed when I decided to drop out of my Ph.D. program—this key moment marked the beginning of my journey of self-discovery, as I started questioning why I felt so disconnected from myself, unsure of my needs and wants, and burdened by a sense of dissatisfaction and directionlessness.

After many moments of reflection filled with personal “aha!” moments, I now help others who are on a similar journey. It's my goal for you to gain better self-understanding so that you can nurture yourself AND your relationships. My writing covers many topics, including uncovering belief systems, changing thought patterns, setting boundaries, gaining emotional maturity, upholding personal responsibility, and holding others accountable for themselves. How is this different from social media?

While I love sharing content with you on Instagram, and Threads, I'm genuinely excited to connect with you more personally and reflectively here on Substack. My goal with this newsletter is to share my moments of reflection—those sudden realizations, flashes of inspiration, and insightful observations that have deepened my understanding of myself, my relationships, and the messiness of life.

When it comes to real life, things are incredibly nuanced, far beyond what a social media post can capture, and that's exactly why I'm excited to share more reflective pieces with you here on Substack. You and I will explore the beauty and chaos of being human as we explore new perspectives that empower you to make positive changes in your life.

By sharing my moments of reflection filled with personal anecdotes, I hope you can relate to them and experience your own “aha!” moments that will open your eyes to different perspectives and ways of thinking that help you live a life that is genuinely authentic, liberated, and filled with purpose.
